Primary headache disorders in epileptic adults

Abstract Background Epilepsy and primary headache disorders are two relatively common neurological their relationship is still a matter of debate. We aimed to estimate the prevalence clinical features in patients with epilepsy. Methods 62 subjects aged ≥ 18 years were recruited from hospital’s neurology outpatient clinic period January April 2018. The further divided into equal groups, epileptics non-epileptics. They underwent semi-structured interview including ILAE 2017 epilepsy classification ICHD III-beta criteria for headache. Patients' demographic data characteristics temporal relationships between them assessed. Patients who experienced headaches grouped based on type whether occurred pre-ictal, post-ictal or inter-ictal period. Results Primary more epileptic group (61.3%) than non-epileptic (32.2%) ( p = 0.021). tension-type was most (45.2%) followed by migraine-type (12.9%) group. Post-ictal (29%).
